What's New With Us
I retired in June, 2001, and Sharon retired on Feb 1, 2003, after 25 years with the Haddon Twp School System. I turned
70 years old on Feb 20th, 2007. We live in Beach Haven, NJ.
Our Beach Haven phone number is: 609-492-3534, for those of you that may want
to reach us.
I have a long history on LBI: both sets of grand parents lived on the
island year round since 1917, and my Mom retired here also.
Please refer to this section for periodic updates as to what Sharon
and I are up to.
RECENT WEB SITE PROBLEMS:
On Feb 22, 2008, my web domain name apparently
lapsed, and my service provider did not notify me. For a short time period
(approximately Monday Feb. 25 to Wednesday Feb 27, 2008) my domain name was
pirated, and was used as a pornographic site. My sincere apologies to those
that tried to access this site, and thanks to those true friends who alerted
me to the problem. It was a real nightmare trying to straighten the whole
thing out.
NEWS FLASH!!:
By Popular request, and as a service to our clients, we
are now set up to accept major credit cards (Mastercard, VISA, Discover, and American
Express).
ANNOUNCEMENT: As you are aware, we have no
advertisements, commercials, pop-ups, etc on our site. We designed it, built
it, and financed it on our own, and continue to do so. That having been said,
we want to plug our close friend's Real Estate web site. When we sold our
Beach Haven summer home, the Realtor we chose was Robert (Bob) Keeler. When we
purchased our present Beach Haven home we again chose Bob. He is honest,
loyal, and hard working for his Clients. Should you need to buy or sell real
estate (especially LBI), please visit Bob's site at

second generation, self-taught photographer and print maker. David is a retired
Project/Mechanical Engineer with B.S. and M.S. degrees from Drexel
University, Philadelphia, Pa. He resides in Haddon Township and Beach Haven NJ.
David is an ex-member of the Miniature Camera Club of

America (PSA), and Fellow of the Delaware Valley Council of Camera Clubs. PSA
named David a three star exhibitor having had 160 prints accepted in juried PSA approved international exhibitions. In the year 1972 PSA ranked David as
the 22nd leading color print exhibitor in the world. For those desiring to purchase fine art prints, each
print, both color and monochrome, are individually printed by the photographer himself.
David also personally mats and frames, (if desired), each print. No outside labs or
technicians are ever utilized. Each print is tastefully titled and signed. The finest name brand materials, papers and framing
materials are used. Prints are mounted with museum quality archival corners to
rigid fome-cor backing for easy removal should the need arise. Over mats can be replaced.
David and Sharon were married Feb 7, 1959, and have
three sons: Glenn, who lives in Minnesota, Jeffrey, who lives in Connecticut, and Gary, who
resides in Indiana. All three boys have families, and we have 7 grandchildren.
How I Work
I built my first darkroom in 1959. It was
professionally equipped, with Beselar 23C enlarger, with condenser, cold
light, and color heads. The Crown Jewel in my darkroom was my Leitz Focomat V35 Autofocus enlarger, with color head. In December 2004, I broke up my darkroom, and sold off
most of my equipment. I now use a "Digital Darkroom". All of the older
images (prior to April 2003) were shot with conventional negative film, both B&W and color. I use a Polaroid 120 Sprintscan film
scanner, to scan my negatives into Photoshop CS3. Master files for each
image are burned into a CD or DVD for long term storage, and to preserve hard
drive space. A medium format color negative, with "layers" added in Photoshop,
can be 500 megabytes in size. I make my 13"x19" prints with an Epson
2200 and larger prints with a 7600 printer. Both the 2200 and 7600
Printers utilize Ultrachrome pigmented inks which are truly archival, with
estimated print life of 80 to 100 years, in accordance with The Wilhelm
Institute. For my earlier work, I have used both 35mm and
medium format equipment, and in April, 2003 I started using digital camera
equipment. The earlier work on this site was done mostly with Contax 35mm
equipment (SLRs and G2), with Carl Zeiss lenses, and a Pentax 645 medium
format system. In April, 2003, I switched to digital capture. I presently use
a Canon 1DS Mark II camera, with Canon lenses ranging from 17mm to 500mm. I
also use a Leica M8 Digital Rangefinder camera, with a compliment of Leica,
Carl Zeiss, and Voigtlander lenses. I have not shot a roll of film since April
2003, and have shot digital exclusively.

PRICES
Color or Monochrome prints:
13"x19" print, matted, signed and framed under glass,
20"x24" frame: $175.00
New Larger Print Sizes:
16"x24" print, matted, signed and
framed under glass, 24"x30" frame: $250.00
20"x30" print, matted, signed and
framed under glass, 30"x36" frame: $400.00
If you wish to supply your own frame & glass, David
will print, mount, mat and sign and title at $50.00 less than the above
prices. If you can not pick up the print, it is possible to send it via
UPS or FedEx. I can no longer use glass with the frame if I ship, because of
recent UPS damage to shipped prints. For shipped prints, I supply plexiglass
in lieu of glass. Plexiglas is lighter and non-breakable compared to glass,
but scratches easily, and costs three times what I pay for glass. When
cleaning plexiglass, use a soft cloth with Windex, and clean gently. To help
offset the increased cost to use plexiglass, shipped prints are priced
$10 higher , plus UPS/FedEx shipping & insurance charges.
Note Cards:
10 Note Cards, with envelopes; two different images
per set: $25.00 Please note that our Note Cards are not mass produced. They are
individually printed, on order, by yours truly.
